Mama & Papa B's Missing Sign

The sign's not so much missing, but the text that used to make up the sign. I stopped by last weekend to try a bite (full review forthcoming), and the sign that was immortalized in Wyatt McSpadden's book Texas BBQ, was now blank.

A blow-up from Wyatt's photo.

When I asked the owner, he said a guy came by and whitewashed it, and was then supposed to come back and repaint it as it originally was. He hasn't been around and they don't know where to find him, so they need someone to repaint. If anyone's up for the job, give them a ring at (254) 754-8001.

DISCLAIMER:

Each joint is judged on the essence of Texas 'cue...sliced brisket and pork ribs. Sausage is only considered if house made. Sauce is good, but good meat needs no adornment to satisfy. Each review can only be based on specific cuts of meat on that particular day. Finally, if the place fries up catfish or serves a caesar salad, then chances are they aren't paying enough attention to the pits, so we mostly steered clear.
